Website Updates and Monies Due.
Website
Chawton Athletic's main website (t'other one that has all the stats and such) is about to get a revamp, thanks to hosts Clubwebsite. Check it out after the 29th June to see it in all its glory!
Fees Due
Players signing up for the 2011-12 season need to have their fees paid by 1 September. This includes any due from last season. But as the Club wishes to buy new kits before the season starts, players are encouraged to pay sooner than later if possible to enable us to get it before we kick off the season. Signing on costs £20 and is payable to the Treasurer, Carl Waterfield. Contact details are on this site and the main website.
Forms (and photos for any new players) need to be given to Marc.
Training
Turn-outs at training have been reasonable, with an average of 12 each week. Training sessions have been varied and usually taken by Marc, Paul and Ben H.

Transfer Window Went Crazy... Even for Chawton!
Chawton Athletic joined in the transfer window fun by breaking their own transfer record.
Just as Chelsea and Liverpool were making tsunami-size waves in the Premiership, Athletic paid a fee for a player for the first time ever. The fee is undisclosed, as is the nature of transfers these days, and saw Castle City striker Justin Swales join the side with the transfer just beating the deadline.
And it wasn't the only foray into the player "market", as no less than three other players joined the Club in January. Will Rietzler and Pete Goodall joined a few weeks back and have both already made their full debuts. Jamie Oakley also signed on deadline day, on a free, and is initially seen as an understudy to current glovesman Skilts but who is also expected to have a big future at the Club.
The total amount spent on transfers by the Yellows in the last month outweighs that of Premiership high flyers Arsenal.

Rain Stops Play - And Other Updates!
Rain Stops Play
Sunday's match at West Liss has been called off.
The home side's groundsman called the match off on Friday afternoon, as the waterlogged pitch would be unplayable. Manager Carl Waterfield was working with his opposite number at West Liss to get the game moved to Chawton's Binsted ground, but the Parish Council also ruled Binsted Rec as unplayable too. The fixture will now have to be rearranged for later in the year - although not likely to be the free weekend on 30th January, as there is already a full fixture list.
In place of the match, there will now be compulsory training at Anstey Park. This will begin at 10am and anybody who had made themselves available for the match is expected to attend. Training should be finished by the time Man Utd and Liverpool kick off... for those desperate to watch the "professionals"* play...!
Player Profiles
The website has player profiles, some of which already include pictures. The camera is at every match for those who don't have their picture up, and profile shots will be taken if the weather is dry. A new team picture for this season will also be taken soon, when we have a good turn out at a (dry) home match.
Regarding the written profiles, could all players email the manager at sabrewulf7@yahoo.com with any interesting football related info to put on their profiles, along with any previous (or current Saturday) clubs. The website is getting quite a few hits, so the club wants to use both the website and blog as much as possible!
Kit - Financial Constraints!
The club is, as has been previously mentioned, wanting to get a new kit in time for next season. Discussions are currently ongoing with various parties regarding a sponsorship deal, but the club is owed some £300 by players. Would all players who owe money please ensure they are up to date by the end of January. This impacts the club financially, as well as shows a bit of disrespect to those who pay their dues.
* term used lightly!

Sponsorship Actively Being Sought.
After two and a bit seasons with the old yellow kit, the club are looking to replace this as soon as possible.
With no proper alternative kit, either two cheaper kits will be required or one new home kit that isn't yellow (which is a last resort, as we are "the Yellows"). Either way, to ensure the club can afford this, the Chawton board are actively seeking sponsorship for the new shirts.
Also available is website sponsorship for a much smaller fee over one or two seasons.
Any interested parties in either club (shirt) or website sponsorship should contact the Treasurer, Carl Waterfield, by email at sabrewulf7@yahoo.com or by phone on 07793 538 773 for more details!

Fines...
They are now in force.
Fines will be dished out for:
Lateness to matches - £2 (this is usually 09:30 for home matches)
Refusal to run the line or help with nets etc. when asked by Manager or Assistant Manager - £2
Not turning up on match day, despite confirming you would - £5 (i.e. match fee is payable anyway)
All monies raised from fines will not be going into the Club coffers though. They will be kept separate and used for team bonding etc... which means drinks at the end of the season or whatever else we decide as a team to do!

Website Updates!
The Chawton Athletic Football Club blog has expanded... it's now a full-on website.
Blogmaster Wulfy has been hard at work adding extra pages to ensure everything Chawton is in one place! The breakdown of the extra pages are as follows:
CLUB INFO contains details of our pitch and team colours, as well as who runs the club and how to contact them!
FIXTURES AND RESULTS, obviously, contains all Chawton's upcoming matches and well as all prior results, including scorers of Athletic's goals.
TABLE simply has the league table, updated as often as possible - depending on how often the League's website is. This can be time consuming, so please be patient with this feature!
SQUAD STATS AND INFO will have details of players, positions, appearances, goals and man of the match awards.
SPONSORS will have details of the Club's sponsors, as and when they appear. Although the main Club sponsors will have a prominent spot on the main page!
OTHER LINKS contains other links of interest. These currently include the league's site, various football associations and any other sites that may be of interest, including the blogmaster's personal site (shameless plug!).
Match Reports, as last Sunday's friendly one was, will continue to be included on the main blog, which is now headed NEWS. This will also have photos and any other club news that arises!
Also, a new logo is in the offing. A draft version has been created by Marc, and is in post-production to tidy it up. It is hoped that it can be used for any club clothing in the future, including the hoodies the Club currently has.
Finally, anybody that wants blog updates automatically, email me at sabrewulf7@yahoo.com and I'll add you to the list. It can only have a certain amount... first come first served!
