Sadly due to a mix-up Selborne have double booked their football pitch so this Sunday's scheduled friendly has been cancelled.
Reminder though the the fixtures are now in place, a printed copy will be sent to everyone very shortly. I will also be sending signing on forms to those people who have not completed them as yet. Please complete and return them together with your £20 signing on fee.
We start as we did last year with an away game at Hartley Wintney on the 6th September, I will be in touch during the week leading up to the game to sort availabilities.

Chawton Athletic Friendly V Selborne Arms - Sunday 23rd Aug 09
Morning Athleticers.
This Sunday's friendly (23rd August 2009) against the Selborne Arms is still going ahead, I will be phoning everyone on Wednesday evening to finalise availabilities.
The squad looks good for this season with around 20 players currently interested in playing for Chawton Athletic so far, but as we know we need to ensure we always have at least 14 available for every week to give ourselves a decent chance of competing week in week out.
I am still waiting for the fixtures, but both George and I will be unavailable early September due to holidays and in his case Honeymoon. We will very likely need someone to organise the side if we have a fixture over the weekend of the 12th/13th Sept while I am away. Volunteers please.
This year's signing on fee is £20, I will bring signing on forms to the friendly for those who did not make the team meeting some weeks back. I would appreciate it if you also bought the money too so that the kitty has some funds in it ready for the start of the season.
As with last season match fees will be £5 for a full game and £2.50 for a part game, and as with last season I will attempt to ensure that subs get at least 30 minutes if possible.
Choosing who to come off is never easy so we will need to discuss how best to approach this, we are all playing to enjoy ourselves and so occasionally we will have to take it in turns to come off. Team spirit is key to the team's survival so ideally let's all pull together and give everyone a fair crack of the whip. Hopefully Shaun Newens will still be able to assist with the touchline duties to take the pressure of myself.
