Chawton Athletic - Season 2010-11

A new season is heading swiftly in our general direction, and despite the league losing Morley Road and CSL Hartley Wintney to the Aldershot Sunday League and AFC Wanderers who have folded, Chairman Matt has decided to re-enter the Farnham and District Sunday League after contemplaying moving elsewhere.

Ultimately it was felt that continuing to support a League that was struggling was in Chawton's best interest, in discussion with other Chairmen of the remaining club it was noted that sides that left for the Adlershot league tended to return very swiftly having not enjoyed the experience (let's hope CSL are on of the few that don't come back).

So currently there are only five sides making up our division - ourselves, Lindford, Bluebell (I believe being re-named as Liss Sunday or some such) Royal Exchange and the Royal Oak.

The Legaue are investigating ways to ensure that we have a full season, but ultimately they and I are hopeful that the short stacked nature of the division will be a short-lived one and things will return to normal for the following season.

Pre-season training commences on Wednesday 4th August at 7pm. Signing on forms will be available to be completed and the signing on fee for this coming season will be £25 - with £5 match fees - £3 for a substitute appearance and free for whoever washes the kit.

Up the Chawton!!
